Supplies Needed:

• Empty milk/juice carton (cleaned and dry)
• Acrylic paints, paintbrushes
• Wood glue, gluesticks/gluegun*
• String, wire, ribbon, or strip of fabric for hanging
• Clear coat to protect from rain–(optional)I like to use Modge Podge
• Birdseed
• Utility knife or hole puncher
• Small dowel, stick or craft stick for bird rest

Directions:

1. Paint the carton (you may need 2-3 coats of paint)
2. Use a pen and draw the window opening on 2 sides of the feeder.
3. Using a utility knife carefully cut the bottom and sides of the window flap.
4. Fold the window flap under and glue to itself to create overhang to protect the bird seed and birds. Repeat with the other window.
5. Finish decorating the outside of the feeder.
6. Poke a hole for the stick just under each window. Insert the stick and apply glue. For extra stability I pushed one stick all the way to the other side and glued it.
7. Punch two holes in the top of the milk carton. Place the string through each one and tie a double knot.
8. Fill with birdseed and hang your creation!

The Lord will take care of all your needs. You only need to trust Him. Sometimes what we want is different than what God has for us. Learning to trust God through everything takes faith. The scripture below reminds us how God cares daily for the little birds--yet He wants us to know that we are more valuable to Him. When you are tempted to worry about things try this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I worry about so many things. It seems I worry about almost everything! I know it doesn’t help to worry, but these things just go around and around in my mind. Jesus, please give me more faith in You and take away my worries. In their place I claim Your promise in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those that love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Help me to worry less and trust You more, knowing that You’ll work everything out! Thank You for Your promise. Amen.
